By participating as a beta reader, you agree to the following terms:

1. Respect for Intellectual Property

• All materials shared with you, including drafts, notes, and supplementary documents, are my intellectual property.

• You agree not to claim any part of the work as your own or use it for any purpose other than providing feedback.

• You will not share, distribute, or reproduce any materials provided to you without my explicit written consent.

 

2. Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)

• You agree to keep all materials and discussions related to Arden’s Chosen confidential.

• You will not discuss, summarize, or share details of the work with anyone outside of this beta reading group, in any format, including social media, blogs, or forums.

• This NDA remains in effect indefinitely, even after your role as a beta reader concludes.

 

3. Public Feedback

• As Arden’s Chosen is a work in progress, you agree not to post reviews, critiques, or comments about it publicly.

• All feedback should be provided directly to me, following the guidelines outlined below.

 

4. Respect for Authorial Vision

• Your feedback is immensely valuable, but please remember that creative decisions ultimately rest with me.

• Feedback should be constructive, respectful, and focused on helping to improve the story while respecting my autonomy as the author.

 

5. Feedback Guidelines

• Feedback should be submitted by the deadlines provided in the reading schedule. If you’re unable to meet a deadline, please let me know as soon as possible.

• Focus your feedback on elements such as plot, pacing, character development, and world-building. Specific examples and actionable suggestions are greatly appreciated!

• Avoid overly critical or disparaging language. Kindness and encouragement go a long way!

 

6. Deadlines and Expectations

• You will receive a reading schedule outlining chapters, deadlines, and instructions. These deadlines are important to keep the process moving smoothly.

• Beta reading should remain fun and enjoyable! If at any point you feel overwhelmed or unable to continue, just let me know—no hard feelings.

 

7. Acknowledgment

• In return for your time and insights, you’ll be credited in the acknowledgments section of the final book. Your contribution means the world to me, and I want to recognize your role in bringing this story to life.
